Although
AnimadVersion did not 'officially' form until march of 2000, Benjamin
and Jonathan have been working together since fall of 1996 as the guts
of Dies Irae ! US along with Civitas Hall and Jj Kidder. Never fully escaping
obscurity, Dies Irae ! US recieved international critical acclaim for
its album DOGMA, released independently at the very end of 1998. Five
months later, the band would reach its pinnacle performing at the 8. Wave
Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, DE. Ironically, this would be DI's final performance.
Following the festival, DI's ranks diminished by one half with the dismissal of Civitas and the resignation of Jj Kidder. As Benjamin and Jonathan began writing new material, it became clear that new directions were being explored, and thus a new project had been born: AnimadVersion. While not a complete departure from Dies Irae ! US, AnimadVersion will reflect the band's personal growth in a musical environment that is unbound.

Jonathan is a student at the U of MN, a theatrical sound designer, a sculptor, and a dj.
Benjamin is a [unix badass] at West Group, a painter, a film afficionado and finishing his film degree at the U of MN.
